Where to apply - Visa Application Centres

The visa application centres offers you:

  • Advice on how to complete your application and what documents to attach

  • The passport can be returned by postal service

All visa applications (including all types of residence and work permits) will be accepted and passed back to the applicant by VFS Global Services Ltd. Please be aware that from 1 July 2020 the visa case processing itself for the Kingdom of Denmark (including Greenland and the Faroe Islands) in China and Japan will take place at the REGIONAL VISA HUB DENMARK in Guangzhou. However, for visa inquiries please refer directly to the VFS center where you handed in your application.

Chinese Service and Public Affairs Passports

Visa applicants with official passports (service passports, passports "for public affairs") apply for their visas via the competent department for Foreign Affairs of the Chinese Ministry or Commission.

Diplomatic passports issued by China are visa exempt.

Visa for Iceland

As of the May 8th 2023, the Icelandic representation in China will process all Schengen visa applications where Iceland is the main destination. Therefore, it will no longer be possible to apply for a Schengen visa for Iceland via the Danish Visa Application Centres (VAC).

If such an application has been paid online, your fee will be refunded.

Applicants from Hong Kong

Applicants from Hong Kong may submit their visa application for Denmark, Greenland and Faroe Islands excluded, at the Finnish Consulate General in Hong Kong, here.  Applicants from Hong Kong may submit their Visa Application for Greenland and Faroe Islands at one of the Danish visa centres in mainland China here

Applicants from Mongolia (Kindly note, that this is not possible at the moment due to the pandemic situation)

Applicants from Mongolia may submit their visa application for Denmark at the German Embassy in Ulaanbaatar. This means that the application procedure for a visa to Denmark from Mongolia must be in accordance with German visa regulations and requirements.

Applicants should follow the lists of documentation from the German Embassy and make sure that all necessary documents are enclosed for obtaining a visa to Denmark. For more information, please see the website of the German Embassy in Ulaanbaatar here.

Applicants should be aware that letters of invitation must be legalized in accordance with German law, when applying for a visa to Denmark from the German Embassy in Ulaanbaatar.

Mongolian applicants for residence permits should apply via one of the Danish Visa Application Centres in China, as the German Embassy in Ulaanbaatar is not authorized to receive these applications on behalf of the Danish authorities.
