Innovation Centre Denmark in Shanghai is looking for an energetic and bright individual to take over a full-time position as Innovation Officer, Higher Education and Science.

The position is based at the Innovation Centre Denmark at the Royal Danish Consulate General in Shanghai. The position is available now.

Job Description
Reporting to the Attaché for Higher Education, Science and Innovation at the Innovation Centre in Shanghai, you will join a team of excellent colleagues dedicated to commerce, research and educational collaborations between the Danish knowledge ecosystems and their Chinese counterparts.

You are expected to understand/quickly acquire an overview of both the Chinese and Danish ecosystem within higher education and science, including various government agencies and key private stakeholders with support of your colleagues at the Danish missions across China and at the Innovation Centre Denmark headquarter in Copenhagen.

You are expected to support the work of the Attaché for Higher Education, Science and Innovation, in particular in relation to analysing and translating Chinese science policy developments. 

You will also develop projects and activities of your own that are of value to Danish partners within higher education and science. In this capacity, you will work with a range of Danish organisations, such as universities, private foundations, public authorities and companies from start-ups to multinational corporations. 

You will be responsible for the maintenance and development of various networks of value to Innovation Centre Denmark, including the Denmark-China Alumni Association.  

One of the tasks of the Innovation Centres based in seven global innovation "hot spots" is to scout for new technologies, disruptive innovations and opportunities, and to bring insights into state-of-the-art developments back to Denmark in the form of smaller reports, analysis and workshops/conferences. The Innovation Officer is part of the Innovation Centre Denmark and as such is expected to join projects that have global reach in collaboration with the other Innovation Centres around the world. 


Desired skills and experience
The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:
• Enthusiastic interest in higher education and science policy.
• Minimum a master degree in a relevant academic discipline.
• In-depth knowledge/interest in the Chinese and Danish ecosystems within higher education and science.
• Demonstrated project management skills.
• Cross-cultural curiosity and experience is a plus. Please specify in the application/cover letter your specific experience & engagement with Western companies/institutions/universities.
• Outstanding analytical skills and experience in either qualitative or quantitative methodology.
• Ability to write reports for publication.
• Fluency in English and Mandarin (written and verbally).
• Self-driven, good interpersonal skills, result-oriented approach, and high drive to succeed your own and the team’s projects.
