The commercial department at the Royal Danish Consulate General in Shanghai is seeking to recruit an energetic, extrovert, creative and experienced Commercial Officer for a full-time position within the ‘E-commerce and e-health sector’. 

Your job will be commercial case solving, consulting and promoting Danish health companies and organizations on Chinese e-commerce, digital health sites, digital health communication platforms, online health consultancy / diagnosis, online pharmacies and SOME platforms. You will be in charge of further developing the Danish e-commerce health strategy with existing partners such as JD Health, Alibaba (Alihealth), Pinduoduo and JD.com as well as setting up new partnerships and MOUs to the benefit of Danish export and sales online and OTO in China.

You have a great interest in new routes to market and are up to date with the latest trends. You are creative and like to look for new marketing and business opportunities.

Your working place will be at the Royal Danish Consulate General in Shanghai and you will be part of both the e-commerce team as well as the Health team with a sector specialist role within the two teams. You will become a focal point of the Health e-commerce strategy in China and a main contact for Danish health companies with specific e-commerce, OTO and SOME interests in the region.

We offer a challenging work environment where you need to combine a high degree of independent work tasks with cross-country teamwork. You will be working with some of the best Danish brands and support their online expansion in China. The work will be coordinated via our Global Industry Team and you should expect regular travel activity to Copenhagen, Denmark.

Job Description
You will provide high-level consultancy services and manage business development projects for e-Health based on The Danish Trade Councils new strategy in order to support Danish health companies in China. You will also focus on sustaining strong commercial as well as governmental relations between Denmark and China. 


Your work tasks will include:
• Building up a strategy that serves as a link between e-health and the e-commerce sector. Especially areas within the Business-to-business segment. 
• Identify online opportunities and execute promotional activities for Danish health companies already established in the Chinese market within B2C and B2B.
• Follow rules and regulations on online sales of prescription and non-prescription drugs (cross border and general import)
• Working with both online and offline events, streaming activities and Chinese SOME.
• Research, identification and evaluation of local Chinese partners for Danish companies.
• Planning, organizing and executing promotional events and fairs. 
• Mediating between Danish companies and Chinese e-commerce companies.
• Be able to collaborate with strategic business partners and be a liaison between Denmark and China, key life science industry partners and respective authorities developing operational go-to-market plans for Danish companies prior to market entry.

Required Qualifications

You are fascinated by online and SOME business and see great opportunities within this field.


Key qualifications;
• Excellent command of English and Mandarin - both oral and written.
• An established network within or experience from the ‘e-commerce’ sector is an advantage.
• Prior experience with online sales of health / health supplement products / online pharmacy is an advantage.
• Business and/or Marketing degree (minimum BA level).
• Knowledge and understanding of Chinese e-commerce, SOME and retail mechanics.
• Experience in executing consultancy services as well as strong commercial sense.
• Experience with organizing customer events and seminars.
• Experience in working with foreign enterprises.
• International experience, possibly from studies or working abroad. 
• Experience in making PowerPoint presentations.

Employment conditions
• You will be offered full time employment on a local contract based on the relevant legally binding labour market rules of China.
• Your standard working hours will be 40 hours per week with flexibility in organizing your own daily working hours.  
• You will be entitled to 20 days of paid holiday per year. In addition, you will be entitled to a number of paid local holidays.  
• Your salary will reflect your qualifications, relevant experience and proven work-related results.
