The Danish Embassy is looking for a new Officer for Facility Management

Position:           Administrative Officer (Facility)
Starting date:  1st February 2020
Location:           Royal Danish Embassy in Beijing

The Embassy is seeking to recruit an open-minded and service-oriented Administrative Officer for Facility Management.

You will be working in Team Administration. The main tasks of the Administration Team is to operate and manage accounting, administration of staff and residences and other daily operations. As Administrative Officer in Facility, you will be responsible for all tasks relating to facility management for the Chancellery and residences. You are, however, expected to show the flexibility required for an optimal handling of other tasks within the portfolio of the administration of Embassy and thus be ready to contribute to handling tasks outside your own portfolio.

Main tasks and responsibilities
• Supervising and managing the embassy’s technical installations e.g. pumps, thermostats, air-condition, ventilation, lights etc.
• Supervising and managing the CTS-system, ensuring a comfortable indoor climate on the entire compound.
• Supervising and managing facility tasks in posted staff’s residences.
• Planning and implementation of smaller projects and construction activities
• Contact person to external service providers.
• Supervising the cleaning of the embassy’s buildings and green areas
• Small repairs on buildings, furniture, installations and machines
• Administrative tasks concerning facility management
• Maintaining a list of accessories like filters, light bulbs, etc.

Required qualifications
• Bachelor or above with focus of technical issues in relation to the described tasks
• At least 2 years related work experience especially work in an international organization
• Very well inter-cultural understanding
• A positive, open-minded, pro-active attitude/approach to handling of assignments
• A structured mind-set and excellent planning and coordination skills
• A high sense of responsibility
• Excellent skill of English and Chinese mandarin language – oral and written
• Great interpersonal skills and team player abilities as well as interest in and willingness to share knowledge with – and learn from – colleagues
• Ability to foster and maintain networks
• Ability to work independently and efficiently
• Flexible and willing to adapt to the changing needs of the Embassy
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under time pressure

Employment conditions
• You will be offered permanent employment on a local contract based on the relevant legally binding labour market rules of China
