Ambassador Thomas Østrup Møller


Ambassador's background

Ambassador Thomas Østrup Møller was nominated as Ambassador of Denmark to China in September 2020. He is also Denmark’s Ambassador to Mongolia.

From 2017 to 2020, he worked as commissioner for Corporate Management within the Danish National Police – the highest authority within Danish Police. From 2015 to 2017 he worked as Deputy Permanent Secretary within the Danish Ministry of Justice.
Thomas Østrup Møller has served the Danish Foreign Ministry as ambassador in Poland (2010-2012) and as under-secretary for resources and operations (2012-2015). Earlier postings includes: Economic Counsellor at the Danish Embassy in Berlin, First Secretary at the Royal danish Embassy in Cairo  and Head of section for NATO affairs. 

He has a degree as M.Sc. in Economics from University of Copenhagen, and has also studies at prestigious educational institutions as Harvard University, John F. Kennedy School of Government and University of Pennsylvania – The Wharton School. Thomas Østrup Møller is Knight 1st Class of the Order of the Dannebrog (Denmark).
