Lagting elections 2026

Thursday, 26 March 2026, the parliamentary elections (Lagtingsvalg) will be held in the Faroe Islands. Faroese voters who are staying in China can vote at the Danish diplomatic missions.

Please contact the embassy or the mission where you wish to vote to arrange a time for your personal attendance.

Voters in Hong Kong can vote by mail at the Danish Seamen’s Church. The Seamen’s Church can be contacted by email at: [email protected] to arrange a time for your personal appearance.

In order for the missions in China to send your postal vote back in time, we recommend that you vote no later than Friday, 13 March 2026. No voters who wish to cast a postal vote after this date will be refused, regardless of the risk that the postal vote may not reach its destination in time.
