Shanghai is a hotspot for innovation, research and development (R&D). Our distinguished role is to promote innovation and R&D-collaboration between Denmark and China through our extensive network of technology companies, universities, research institutions, authorities and other key players. We are a joint initiative under the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Danish Ministry of Higher Education and Science. You can read more about us at

We share office with our partner initiative, Invest in Denmark, and it is a dynamic workplace consisting of 19 Danish and Chinese colleagues, of which three are interns.

You will be a part of a small team with a large and diverse portfolio of assignments mainly within the fields of Information and Communication Technology, Clean Tech, Life Science, Design, Research and Higher Education. The intern position that currently is available is our Innovation management and administration intern position for a period of six months. A background within business administration, social science, management or economics is advantageous, but not a demand. Aside from the day to day administrative tasks, our interns contribute to projects and engage in relevant tasks and responsibilities.

You are:

  • Undertaking a Master’s degree at a Danish university or business school.
  • Curious about innovation in China.
  • Possessing good analytical skills and experience with CRM systems.
  • Good at working independently and managing several concurrent tasks.
  • Possessing strong communicative skills in both spoken and written English and Danish.
  • Full of initiative and energy.

The candidate is engaged under the terms for internships at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The position is unpaid, but concrete documented expenses (including rent, visa, flight tickets, vaccines and insurance) will be refundable up to 3000 DKK/month. The candidate is responsible for handling practical issues regarding housing, visa, etc. The type of visa you will be granted has two entries, and therefore you can only leave mainland China one time during your internship.
