Innovation Centre Denmark, Shanghai promotes innovation and R&D-collaboration between Denmark and China through our extensive network of Danish and Chinese companies, universities, research institutions, authorities and other key players. We are a joint initiative under the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Danish Ministry of Higher Education and Science. You can read more about us at www.icdk.um.dk.

We share office with our partner initiative, Invest in Denmark, and it is a dynamic workplace consisting of 19 Danish and Chinese colleagues, of which three are interns.

We have a large and diverse portfolio of assignments mainly within the fields of Information and Communication Technology, Clean Tech, Life Science and Research and Higher Education.

A background in communications and/or marketing is an advantage, although not a demand. You
will work with a wide range of tasks within external and internal communication such as writing articles, press releases, case stories and newsletters, maintaining our website as well as working on communication plans, and social media profiles (LinkedIn). You will also assist our consultants as well as our innovation attaché in projects and delegations from Denmark. Additionally, you will contribute to the administrative tasks during peak periods.

You will have opportunity to influence your tasks and responsibilities, and target them to your field of interest.

We offer:

  • Hands-on experience in diplomatic work/missions as well as experience working with external and internal communication.
  • Insight in Danish business, R&D and innovation opportunities in China.
  • Close cooperation as an equal player with our innovation consultants and executive team.
  • Professional and personal development.

You are:

  • Studying a master’s degree at a Danish university (required)
  • Interest in innovation, research and higher education in China and Denmark.
  • Full of initiative and energy.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Experienced with CMS and newsletter editing and setup.
  • Possessing good analytical skills.
  • Good at working independently and managing several tasks at a time.

The internship is unpaid, but concrete documented expenses (including rent, visa, flight tickets, vaccines and insurance) will be refundable up to 3000 DKK per month. It is a condition of the internship that you pass a security clearance by the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The intern is responsible for handling practical issues regarding housing, insurance, vaccinations, etc. The type of visa you will be granted has two entries, and therefore you can only leave mainland China one time during your internship.
