China's 2025-plan presents great opportunities for Denmark

For many years, China has been known as the world’s manufacturing hub, and with Xi Jingping’s ”Made in China 2025” initiative, China plans to embrace this image for the future to come.

Contrary to the development characterising the manufacturing industry of Western countries, China does not plan to outsource its manufacturing processes. Instead, the Government strives to upgrade China's manufacturing industry to become one of both quality, efficiency and sustainability.

Part of the government's strategy is therefore to make great investments within specific sectors, which are perceived as necessary pre-successors to the realisation of this goal. Seen from a Danish perspective, this part of the “Made in China 2025” initiatitve presents great possibilities, as Danish companies and institutions are leading within several of the identified sectors.

If you want to know more, our Innovation Attaché, Martin Bech has written a piece on the topic (in Danish), which can be found here.
