SYD Dynamics

Danish robotics company establishes connections to Chinese partners

Billedversion

Good relations as a foundation for successful business
In December 2017, SYD Dynamics got the chance to present their innovative product to Chinese companies and investors in Shanghai, Wuxi, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Taipei. These visits were part of a robotics innovation camp arranged by Innovation Centre Denmark (ICDK) and Invest in Denmark in Shanghai. Liping Shi, Chief Operating Officer at SYD Dynamics, explains why the company chose to go through ICDK to get access to the Chinese market: “Establishing trust is essential when doing business in China. It is a big advantage that someone official is standing in between, and ICDK is able to fulfill that role with their Chinese consultants who understand Denmark and China very well and therefore can link both sides”. Yinan Sang, Vice President at SYD Dynamics, furthermore adds that knowing which companies are the right ones to talk to is a foundation for quickly creating strong relationships: “ICDK helped us to get in touch with the Chinese companies, whom they know has a good background and a healthy business. Through our communication with ICDK, we obtained a deep understanding of the Chinese market needs in an efficient way”.

Creating potential for future partnerships

Liping Shi and Yinan Sang agree that the outcome of the trip to China was very fruitful. They are confident that the new connections they established will lead to future partnerships: “We are still communicating with some of the potential partners and investors whom we met with in China, and these connections are indeed very valuable”, says Liping Shi. They both emphasize that they would definitely recommend a similar trip to other companies as a very good way to gain insights into the Chinese market and local businesses.
