Ambassador and wife participates in opening of Louise Bourgeois exhibition

Saturday the 27th of October, the Danish Ambassador to China, Mr. Friis Arne Petersen, and his wife Birgitte Wilhelmsen attended the opening reception of an exhibition of the French-American artist, Louise Bourgeois, at the Danish art gallery Faurschou in Beijing’s art district 798.

Together with the founders of the Faurschou art gallery, Jens and Luise Faurschou, and the curator at the gallery, Jerry Gorovoy, the ambassador and his wife enjoyed the contributions to contemporary art by Louise Bourgeois at the Danish art gallery. The art of Louise Bourgeois has been exhibited around the globe including at Tate Modern, London and the Guggenheim Museum in New York. Before she passed away in 2010, Bourgeois was awarded the National Medal of Arts by former U.S. President Bill Clinton in 1997.

The exhibition at the Faurschou gallery in Beijing will last from the 27th of October 2012 to the 24th of March 2013.
