The 9th Beijing International Film Festival 2019 calls for Danish film submission

Submission of films for the 2019 Beijing International Film Festival is now open. Danish filmmakers are encouraged to submit before January 31th.

The 9th Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF), one of Asia’s most prominent film festivals, will be held in Beijing in April, 2019.

The Organizing Committee of BJIFF is now calling for film entries to participate in the Tiantan Award Competition Section, Beijing Film Panorama Out-of-Competition Section, Forward Future Section, and Documentary Section.

What is the Tiantan Award Competition Section?

 Tiantan Award includes 10 awards: Best Feature Film, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Music and Best Visual Effects.

Art films with market potential or commercial films with artistic value will be preferred.

The winners of these awards will be announced during the Closing & Awards Ceremony.

What is Beijing Film Panorama Section?
Films featured at Beijing Film Panorama of the 9th BJIFF will be screened throughout theatres in Beijing in April, 2019. As one of the core events in BJIFF, Beijing Film Panorama will screen nearly 500 excellent works from all over the world. It will build a platform of observation, discussion, learning, and exchange for filmmakers and fans throughout the world, exhibiting a fascinating diverse culture.
What is Forward Future Section?

Forward Future Section aims at discovering fresh filmmakers, hunting for the future trends of global film industry, encouraging the spirits of innovation in filmmaking and displaying a culture diversity of film art.

This Section will finally present four awards, including “The Most Popular Film”, “The Most Popular Director”, “The Most Popular Screenwriter” and “The Most Popular Film by Audience”.

General rules
Films submitted for the 9th BJIFF Competition and Forward Future Sections should be feature films of no less than 70 minutes released after January 1st, 2018. Only director’s first or second feature film is eligible for the Forward Future Section.
Films submitted for the 9th BJIFF Out-of-Competition Section should be feature films of no less than 70 minutes, or animation films of no less than 60 minutes released after January 1st, 2017.
Films submitted for the 9th BJIFF Documentary Section should be documentary films of no less than 60 minutes released after January 1st, 2018.
World premieres or international premieres are given priority.

No fee will be charged for films submission. Registrants should be the producers of the film, who are responsible for the copyright of the registered films, its related prints, and other rights.

Please register on the website, fill the entry form and submit films before January 31st, 2019.
