HRH Prince Consort of Denmark and Vice Governor Gu exchanged views on the Danish investment in Yunnan Province. There are four Danish companies that are operating in Yunnan Province. The biggest one is DanHua Horticulture (Kunming) Ltd., which produces high quality hybrid flower seed products for the international markets. Yunnan Danyun Fair Trade Development Co., Ltd is another Danish owned company in Yunnan. The company’s founder, Ms. Bitten Hogh, helps women from local rural areas to sell their handicrafts to the international market and cater to the international taste.
HRH Prince Consort of Denmark, Friis Arne Petersen and Vice Governor Gu expressed wishes that Denmark and Yunnan Province could have more business cooperation in the future. Vice Governor Gu also presented HRH Prince Consort of Denmark a commemorative album which commemorates the construction of Yunnan-Vietnam Railway, which was opened in 1910.
It is the first railway in Yunnan Province. HRH Prince Consort’s father, Count André de Laborde de Monpezat donated for the construction of the railway. HRH Prince Consort took the train to from Hanoi, Vietnam to Kunming, Yunnan Province on this railway in 1951. HRH Prince Consort arrived in Shanghai, China on March 2nd on the inaugurate flight on the new direct route between Shanghai and Copenhagen, Denmark by the Scandinavian Airlines System.
