Ambassador A. Carsten Damsgaard
Welcome to Denmark in China.
The Danish diplomatic missions in China are working for Denmark in China.
Where it matters. When it matters.
My team and I at the Embassy in Beijing and my colleagues at the Consulates General in Shanghai, Guangzhou and Chongqing as well as the Trade Mission in Taipei all work hard at promoting Danish interests in China, whether they are political, economic, commercial or cultural. We also seek to strengthen the comprehensive and multi-facetted Danish-Chinese cooperation – and to raise the profile of Denmark all over China. This work concerns the whole of the Kingdom of Denmark, including the Faroe Islands and Greenland.
Our aim is to create the highest possible value for Denmark and Danish interests in one of the world’s strongest economies with more than 1.3 billion citizens. We see the Embassy and the other Danish missions as central tools in further developing the strategic partnership between Denmark and China.
Denmark is a strong brand in China. However, this brand can be further strengthened and developed: As regards modern Danish values as well as innovative and sustainable Danish solutions and products in the fields of environment, energy, food, health, welfare, transportation, design and culture. The modern “fairy tale country” – that Denmark is known to many Chinese as – has a lot to offer in relation to the fast economic and social development of China. This is also relevant to the promotion of Chinese investments in Denmark.
Another crucial aspect of these tasks is to promote direct people-to-people contacts. As regards both tourists, business people, students, journalists and artists, we want to contribute to increasing the traffic between our two countries.
Do follow us and our activities on our social media platforms.
Once again, welcome to Denmark in China.
