The Danish food sector must show constant innovation in order to remain abreast of the global competition and retain its position at the cutting edge of the market.
Danish food products must represent and be associated with utmost quality, health, safety and production methods that are environmentally sustainable.
To achieve this new knowledge is constantly needed. The Ministry therefore supports comprehensive research programmes and provides funds for innovation in all areas of food production.
Some of the key themes of this research and innovation are:
• high-technology and environmentally friendly solutions
• healthy and safe food products of high quality
• cooperation with both industrially funded and private research projects
