HRH The Crown Prince of Denmark sets the stage for more Sino-Danish cooperation

From 23th to 26th of September HRH The Crown Prince of Denmark visited China to continue and further enhance the partnership between Denmark and China.

The Crown Prince visit marked Sino-Danish cooperation in the fields of education, innovation, green technology and tourism. Areas which are all spearheads of the strategic partnership between Denmark and China.

The Danish Minister for Higher Education and Science, Søren Pind also took part in the visit.

The main purpose of the trip was the inauguration of the House of The Danish Industry Foundation at the University of The Chinese Academy of Science. The new building at CAS Yanqihu Campus will be the house of the Sino-Danish Center of Research and Innovation and will be the centre for of cooperation between researchers and students from China and Denmark. After the inauguration, the Crown Prince participated in a celebration run on the Great Wall together with students from the SDC.

Another important event during the visit was the opening of the Lifelong Learning Seminar, a cooperation between Tsinghua University and the LEGO Foundation. Here the Crown Prince had the opportunity to meet children down to the age of six that are enrolled in the program. The Children are being taught how to use creativity in their education through playing.

The Crown Prince also kick-started Beijing Design week 2018 where the city of Copenhagen is guest city. Focus will be on Danish green solutions in the area of urban innovation.

After three days in Beijing The Crown Prince travelled to Guangzhou to further strengthen tourism between Denmark and China. Under the title ‘Denmark Day – Adventures of Denmark’ Danish culture, lifestyle and tourism was showcased.

During the four day long visit to China the Crown Prince participated in more than 18 activities, all strengthening the Sino-Danish relationship and further cooperation.
